Voluntary Rangers

We need voluntary rangers to help look after sites throughout the Neath Port Talbot Authority area. To become a Voluntary Ranger all you need is enthusiasm and an enjoyment of the countryside. All that we ask is that you can be available on a regular basis, even if you can spare only an hour or so each week.

Volunteers are indemnified, i.e insured, exactly the same as any full time employee of the authority, providing application forms are completed and returned to the Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre before work is commenced.

Activities that you can become involved in include:

  • Checking sites and rights of way
  • Helping to lead guided walks
  • Assisting visiting groups
  • Carrying out practical maintenance and environmental improvements
  • Helping with running and marshalling events

If you are interested in becoming a voluntary ranger then please complete and return the registration form either by e-mail or by post to:-
