What are we doing about benefit fraud?

• The Fraud Investigation Team works closely with other parts of the Council and the Benefits Agency.
• The Fraud Investigation Team has a service level agreement with the police.
• The Fraud Investigation Team also has working links with other anti-fraud organisations, such as the Local Authority Investigation Officers Group (LAIOG) and the Benefit Fraud Inspectorate.
• Last year the Fraud Investigation Team detected over £1million of benefit fraud.
