Financial Assistance
Neath Port Talbot is located within a Tier 1 Assisted Area which
means that it not only has the potential to attract the highest
level of grant aid, but businesses investing in the area can access
a wide range of financial incentives designed to develop new
businesses and encourage new investment.
Incentives are provided through a number of bodies, including
the Welsh Assembly Government, the Council, and some private sector
providers, so anyone contemplating a project is advised to seek
advice regarding funding at an early stage from Business Eye.
When sources of funding have been identified, Business Connect
Neath Port Talbot can work with companies and the relevant
institutions to compile a business plan and help secure funding.
Business Connect can also advise on specific issues such as
planning consent and other legal requirements, marketing, finding
suitable premises, etc.
In this section of the web site you will find a summary of the
financial schemes available from both the Council’s Economic
Development and Property and Regeneration teams. It is only
intended to give a flavour of what is available and anyone wishing
to apply for funding is advised to make contact through the listed
telephone number to discuss the projects’ eligibility.
Please note that with the end of the Objective 1 Programme some
forms of assistance that have been previously provided by the
Economic Development Team have now been drawn to a close. Regional
bids are now being proposed for the Convergence Programme, which
would see funding in place from 2008.
