Communities First Review
The
Leader of Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, Councillor
Derek Vaughan, asked the Chief Executive in 2006 to conduct a
review of the Communities First programme in Neath Port Talbot. The
subsequent consultation process took place over a number of months,
with letters sent to all key partners in the programme posing a
series of questions to consider, and welcoming comments on Neath
Port Talbot Communities First in general. An online questionnaire,
and a consultation event held at the Aberavon Beach hotel in late
July 2006, provided further means by which partners could
contribute their views.
On the 18th July 2007, partners from across Communities First in
Neath Port Talbot gathered once again at the Aberavon Beach Hotel
to attend the launch of the Review report and to discuss the
twenty-eight recommendations outlined in the document.
The contributions made within the workshop discussions at the
recent event inform the action plan which will look at implementing
those recommendations commonly agreed by those involved within the
Communities First process.
