This is an upland route, with no
defined path. It is challenging, in that you will need to find your
own route, using the Ordnance Survey Explorer Maps, Sheet Numbers
165 and OL12. The route is just less than 5km and crosses open
moorland between the villages of Cwmgors and Cwmllynfell, giving
panoramic views of the Black Mountain and the Aman Valley away to
the east, as well as views of the settlements of Cwmgors,
Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen, Tairgwaith and Cwmllynfell.
The route is rough underfoot, and is
wet in places at all times of year, but especially in autumn or
winter. Appropriate footwear and clothing should be worn, and you
should be prepared for the weather to change.
