  • Air Quality Strategy & Clean Air Charter
Our local Air Quality Strategy sets out our strategic policy for achieving cleaner air.
  • Bathing Water Quality
High quality bathing waters are important for a wide variety of interests and to support our local tourism industry. Monitoring the quality of these waters provides us with an indication of any possible health risks of bathing in the sea.
  • Contaminated Land
Historical industries located in Neath Port Talbot have left areas of the Borough with a legacy of contaminated land. Some of this land can be harmful to health and has to be dealt with. We have a legal duty under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to identify, keep a register of, and arrange the clean up of this land. This is to protect the people who live there now and in the future.
  • Industrial Pollution Control
Your business may need an environmental permit from the Council or the Environment Agency before it can operate. The Council is responsible for regulating a wide range of businesses ranging from dry cleaners and petrol stations to large industrial manufacturing plant. Regulations specify which business need to apply, but please contact us if you have any queries.
  • Pollution Monitoring Reports
We have a number of reports available for you to view.
