Children & Young People Services
We work with children in need, to make sure they get the right
help to meet their potential.
Children might be in need because:
- they're not likely to meet their full potential of health and
development, unless they have help from the local authority
- they have disabilities, which could be physical or learning
disabilities or both.
We work together with other organisations to plan and run
services.
In all our work with children, we make sure that the welfare of
the child is paramount. We also believe that each child has the
right to be treated as a unique individual, and has the right to
express opinions and to make choices. Children are usually best
cared for in their own homes by their own families. They also have
a right to be protected from harm.
