Local Service Board
Local service Boards (LSBs) are Wales’ model for engaging
the whole of the Welsh public service in a new way of working by
integrating services and responding more effectively to citizens'
needs.
The Local Service Board is made up of
strategic partner organisations who have agreed to work together to
deliver the aims and objectives of the Neath Port Talbot Community
Plan. The Board seeks to promote integrated services and remove
organisational barriers to facilitate the effective delivery of
public services which are based around the needs of citizens. Local
Service Boards bring together the leaders from across public,
private and voluntary sector organisations to work together more
efficiently and effectively. LSB members
act non-representatively, to assist and challenge partner agencies,
individually and collectively, to deliver excellent,
citizen-centred public services. Whilst the LSB does not have
any decision making powers, joint actions will be agreed and
committed to with any formal decisions required being taken through
individual partners’ decision making processes.
The LSB as part of its leadership role has
initiated the development of its first single integrated plan. At
present, the statutory overarching partnership plans for NPT are
the Community Plan, Community Safety Plan, Health Social Care and
Wellbeing Strategy and the Children and Young People’s Plan. These
will be replaced by the NPT Single Integrated Plan which will
provide a shared agenda of better outcomes.
