Recycling Centres for Householders

Recycling CentreHousehold waste that is not collected as part of the kerbside recycling service can be sorted and taken to Household Waste and Recycling Centres.  To better manage waste for recycling, recovery or final disposal, these sites have been improved.   Of the waste taken to our Household Waste Recycling Centres a large percentage is recycled. We have more information on our performance page.

Facilities are now provided for the deposit of fluorescent light tubes, low energy bulbs, bonded asbestos sheeting, oils, paints, Tetra Paks, cooking oil and batteries and also for garden waste (see table below for full list).

Recycling CentreTo make use of these facilities, you must be a resident of Neath Port Talbot County Borough, and be recycling or disposing of your own household waste. These sites are licensed by the Environment Agency to accept household waste only.  The Household Waste & Recycling Centres will not accept trade or commercial waste generated by business activities for this type of waste see Business Advice.

If you wish use a van or similar or trailer with more than one axle to take domestic waste from your household to one of the Household Waste and Recycling Centres in Neath Port Talbot then you need will need a permit.  To find out more information look at the Householder Permit system.

Compost bins are available for collection form the Recycling Centres.  For information on how to purchase a compost bin and receive your voucher please visit Home Composting.
