Local Biodiversity Action PlanNPT LBAP Cover

The Local Biodiversity Action Plan was reviewed and updated in 2008 to reflect changes in UK-wide targets and changes in local habitats and species populations in Neath Port Talbot.  The plan was produced on behalf of the Neath Port Talbot Biodiversity Forum (comprising representatives of key organisations, buisnesses and local experts).  It sets out targets for conservation action for those species and habitats of local priority in Neath Port Talbot over the next 5-years.

The habitat and species actions plans (HAPs and SAPs) are divided into broad colour coded categories.  The species are presented in sections with the habitats they are likely to be found in.   See: list of the action plans.

A taster document and the full plan with habitat and species description and targets for conservation action can be downloaded below.

The plan relies on local organisations, businesses, local residents and visitors contributing to conservation action for our locally special species and habitats.  Many organisations have signed up to specific actions for species and habitats in Neath Port Talbot and these can be viewed through the new UK-wide Biodiversity Action Reporting System.  If you would like to help, either by volunteering for practical conservation work in the area or to help survey for certain species or habitat, please contact us........
