Neath Port Talbot Health Social Care and Well-Being
Strategy
“Making a Real Difference”
We have many things to be proud of in Neath
Port Talbot. We have natural assets that compare with the best –
our Afan Forest hosts one of the top ten mountain-biking
destinations in the world, and our parks are pleasant and
attractive destinations for both local people and visitors from
elsewhere.
We also have a strong record in delivering
excellent public services which are valued by local people and we
value the strong partnerships we have with communities, with
voluntary organisations, private and statutory sectors which are
vital in ensuring we are continuously working to improve the
quality of life for local people.
Yet, despite all of the strengths we have, the
health of local people is, generally, poorer than the rest of
Wales.
This is the third health social care and
wellbeing strategy for Neath Port Talbot which has been developed
through the combined efforts of Neath Port Talbot Council, Abertawe
Bro Morgannwg University Health Board, the Council for Voluntary
Services and the Local Public Health Team. It reaffirms our joint
commitment to improving health for everyone whilst also reducing
the gap between the most healthy and the least healthy and
improving access for those who need treatment and support.
