Recycling Guide
We have changed the kerbside recycling collection
system to make recycling simpler. The new system only uses
CLEAR recycling bags.
The new bags now have a red stripe towards the end of
the roll which will indicate to the crew you need more and you will
be left another roll of 50 bags. You can also request more
online.
You can still use up any green or blue bags you have left so
they do not go to waste, but we will no longer be issuing
these as replacement bags.

Cardboard |
- Cardboard boxes:

- food packaging

Large cardboard items should be taken to the
Household Waste Recycling Centres. |
- Please rip up all your cardboard to fit inside and make most
use of the bag

Food Waste
|
You can put any raw or cooked food in your caddy
- All products such as cheese, yoghurts and eggs
- Bread, cakes & pastries
- Meat & Fish - raw and cooked including bones
- Raw & cooked vegetables and fruit
- Rice, pasta & beans
- Tea & coffee grounds
- Uneaten food from your plates & dishes

Please do not put any of these materials into your caddy
- Liquids/liquid fat
- Packaging of any sort
- Plastics bags
- Oil or fat

- If you already compost at home, please keep composting your
uncooked vegetable and fruit peelings in your compost bin or
compost heap.

- Paper can be either removed from cans and put in the paper

- Metal lids from jars and metal bottle top can go in but need to
be separated from the jar/bottle

These items should be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres.

- Plastics should be rinsed to prevent smells and
contamination.
- All bottle tops must be removed but can be placed in the same
bag.
- Use margarine or ice-cream tub as storage containers

Good quality items that could be
re-used. |
- Please continue to give good quality items to your local
charity shop. Only items that are worn out and not fit for re-use
should be put out for your recycling collection.
