Countryside Access

A substantial area of the countryside
in Neath Port Talbot is open to the public by one means or
another. There is an extensive network of Rights of Way
throughout the Borough which provides easy access to the
countryside. In addition to this, there are three long
distance trails, the Coed Morgannwg Way, St Illtyd's Walk and Ogwr
Ridgeway Walk.
Whilst Public Rights of Way provide
the main linear means of access in Neath Port Talbot. The
CROW Act significantly increased the opportunities for members of
the public to gain pedestrian access to designated areas of the
countryside. Within the County we are also fortunate to have
considerable areas of land to which public access is available by
permission of the landowners.
Together, all these paths provide
great opportunities for enjoying the countryside on foot, horseback
or on bicycle.
