Deputy Team Manager - Route 16 Leaving Care

We are currently looking for one Deputy Team Manager in the Route 16 (Leaving Care) team.

The Team works with young people aged between 16 - 25 years old, supporting all eligible, relevant, former relevant and qualifying young people under the Children Leaving Care Act 2000 (Categories One to Six - Part 6 Social Services and Well-being Act 2014).

If you have a firm knowledge of the Children Act 1989, The Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000, the Social Services and Well-being Act 2014 and the All Wales Child Protection procedures this could be the job for you. You must also possess a relevant qualification in social work and are registered with the Care Council for Wales.

Social Worker Children and Young People Services X 3 Posts

We are currently looking for a small number of experienced social workers for our Intake Team and one of our Community Children's Teams based in Neath Civic Centre. There is also the opportunity for one candidate to be appointed into a peripatetic post which would involve moving from team to team (in Neath and Port Talbot) to provide long term cover mainly for maternity leave.

Social Worker Children and Young People

We currently have up to three temporary (6 month) Social Worker posts in the Service. Qualified Social Workers as well as candidates due to qualify in 2016 are eligible to apply. The posts will be based in Neath Civic Centre or in one of our community teams in Port Talbot. Applicants are required to have experience (through placements or work) in Children's Services. Independent Reviewing Officer Permanent

It's an exciting time in Children and Young People Services as we continue to make solid progress towards our aims of achieving quality, supporting families and effectively managing risk.

We are now at the stage where we are ready to undertake a further step-change and equip our whole service to embed quality assurance throughout its everyday activity. We have established a Performance, Quality and Practice Development team who will work closely with our Independent Reviewing Officers to drive this forward.

We are currently looking for one permanent Independent Reviewing Officer. Applicants must have at least 3 years post qualification and local government experience of working with families. You are also required to have substantial post qualification practice to include working in child protection and the court arena, as well as significant experience of chairing meetings of a challenging nature.
