It's an exciting time in Children and Young People Services as we continue to make solid progress towards our aims of achieving quality, supporting families and effectively managing risk.

We are now at the stage where we are ready to undertake a further step-change and equip our whole service to embed quality assurance throughout its everyday activity. We have established a Performance, Quality and Practice Development team who will work closely with our Independent Reviewing Officers to drive this forward.

We are currently looking for one temporary Independent Reviewing Officer to cover maternity leave in the team. Applicants must have at least 3 years post qualification and local government experience of working with families.

Social Worker Looked After Childrens Team

Salary: £30,178.00 TO £33,857.00

We are currently looking for an experienced social worker for the Looked After Children Team based in Neath Civic Centre. The team was established 3 years ago to meet the needs of the Looked After Children population within Neath Port Talbot.

To apply for this role, you will need to be focused on building strong, meaningful relationships with children and their families. You will bring a wealth of knowledge and be inspirational in your approach in managing diverse and complex cases. You will join a busy team working with children and young people who reside with foster carers, kinship carers, in residential placements or may live with their parents under court orders. Your role will be to fulfil the Council's obligations as a corporate parent. You will have excellent time management and IT skills, an ability to undertake direct work and build positive relationships with children and young people. You will be working closely with a wide range of professionals, ensuring that the child or young person receives appropriate care, education and health services while promoting permanency for them.
