The park has two trampers for hire at only £1 per hour (with a £10 deposit being payable). The all terrain buggies mean that people with disabilities have the opportunity to explore and enjoy the park's unique surroundings.

Back for the third year by popular demand were Ros Evans (Soprano) and Richard Allen (Tenor) who performed at the Classical Opera Gala Supper, the final event in this years Festival. They were accompanied by Jeff Howard at the piano.

Day 11 of the ever popular Margam Festival. The Festival continued with a performance by the Hemiola Orchestra with the choir and soloists bringing a fusion of music for all tastes.

A taste of army life through the ages will be on offer at Margam Country Park this May bank holiday weekend (6th and 7th May). The staff are preparing for the invasion with re-enactors travelling to Margam from all over the country.

This year's Margam Festival has been hailed a huge success. Attendance figures were up on last year and sponsors, General Electric, who own and operate the Baglan Bay power station, has announced that they will once again sponsor the Margam Festival next year.

The Margam Festival continued with The Film Harmonic Orchestra Concert for Schools held at The Princess Royal Theatre. Conducted by Griff Harries, the orchestra entertained a capacity audience of local schoolchildren and featured music from popular films including Harry Potter, Superman and The Wizard of Oz. Compere for the event was entertainer Kevin Johns.

A 'Strictly Dancing' evening with the Phil Dando Big Band featured on the third night of the Margam Festival. Guests were also treated to a dance demonstration by professional guest dancers and were entertained on arrival at The Orangery by the Liberty Street Jazz Band who were playing in the grounds of the park.

Swansea Community Orchestra made a welcome return to the Festival with a programme featuring a Piano Concerto in A Minor and Beethoven's Symphony No 6 'The Pastoral'.

A festival of Wood will be taking place at Margam Park at the end of the month. The event which showcases the world of wood has already been staged in North Wales for three years and last year attracted nearly 20,000 visitors. Festival organisers are currently finalising arrangements with Margam Park to bring the event to this prestigious location.

The poor weather didn't deter a team of volunteers from planting trees in Margam Country Park over the past week. The Neath Port Talbot and Vale of Glamorgan Youth Services jointly organised an exchange visit of teenagers with a youth service from Carlow in Southern Ireland. The exchange was designed to tackle racism and prejudice.

The 2005 visitor season for Margam Country Park has got off to a good start. Taking advantage of the dry weather over 8,000 visitors came over the weekend, an increase of 15% over the 2004 Easter period.
