XTERRA

XTERRA, the toughest triathlon in the UK, is coming to Neath Port Talbot once again.

With some of the best country and forest parks, dramatic waterfalls and steep sided valleys, Neath Port Talbot provides a perfect setting for sporting events such as XTERRA.

XTERRA involves 90 events across the world every year involving countries like the US, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Spain and the UK. The prestigious event is a combination of three sports – open water swimming, mountain biking and trail running.

Following the success of last years routes XTERRA will be taking place in Afan Forest Park and the Vale of Neath.

The XTERRA main championship will take place on Saturday 21st June 2008 in the Vale of Neath and will include a 1500 Meter Swim, 30KM of mountain bike route and a 10 KM run.

On Sunday 22nd June 2008 the XTERRA Trail Run (1/2 Marathon) of 13.1 Miles will be taking place in Afan Forest Park.
