Youth Service
View the final youth services report
A wide ranging review of youth services in Neath Port Talbot has
been completed.
Carried out over the last year, the review marks the first stage
of a plan to create a revised model for local youth services in
Neath Port Talbot.
The review was carried out as a result of visits made to all
comprehensive schools by Council Leader, Derek Vaughan, and Chief
Executive Ken Sawyers. It was an opportunity for young people to
talk about their communities and local youth facilities.
Its aim is to ensure there are opportunities for all young
people to join in recreational and social activities. To do this, a
comprehensive survey of youth provision across the county borough
was undertaken to look at what facilities are already
available.
An interagency group worked on the review in order to have a
better understanding about youth work in communities, if it can be
improved and what good practice there is elsewhere.
A blueprint for the future of youth services has been drawn up
after children, young people and partners have been consulted on
what needs to be done.
