Materials
- Wherever possible the materials used on the extension should
match, or complement those of the existing building. A mixture of
too many materials, or the introduction of alien materials, make
the extension appear unrelated and thus out of place.
- If an extension involves the continuation of an existing wall in the same plane then there should be maximum compatibility between old and new in terms of colour and texture of materials
