Help us get our priorities right

Every year, the Council has to publish a Plan which sets out our priorities for improvement and how we are changing the way we do things to ensure we continue to improve the services we deliver to you and our communities. This year, the Plan will be different as it will need to take into account new Welsh Government legislation called ‘The Well-being of Future Generations Act’.

The new law means our new Plan needs to set out how we intend to improve the well-being of people in Neath, Port Talbot and Pontardawe. It requires all public services to take a more joined up approach, to think more about the long term, to work better with and involve people and local communities when planning services, and to look to prevent problems before they arise or from getting worse.

To achieve this, we have developed three draft well-being objectives and are currently consulting on these. The consultation is open until Friday 8th September 2017. We’re interested to find out what you think about our suggested well-being objectives and whether you agree that we have identified the right areas to focus on.

Draft Well-being objectives

We want to improve the well-being of everyone in Neath, Port Talbot, Pontardawe and the valleys and propose to focus on three key commitments:
