The Safety Letterbox Company (SLB), also based in Milland Road, Neath, which enjoys a global reputation for making secure parcel and delivery boxes, won the International Trade Business of the Year award.

The firm has  worked on a number of high-profile projects including the Burj Khalifa in Dubai - the world's tallest building - and SLB also installed 242 mailboxes at the ultra-modern Neath Port Talbot based Swansea University Bay Campus.

The Ministry of Furniture, operating from Port Talbot’s Baglan Energy Park, won the Social Enterprise Award.

The business, which emerged from Remploy Furniture, has staff who are experts with unrivalled levels of experience in working in the contract and educational furniture sectors.

Another Port Talbot firm, Fightwear Store UK, based in Purcell Avenue, Sandfields, won the Best Business Start Up award. Councillor Annette Wingrave, Neath Port Talbot Council cabinet member for Regeneration and Sustainable Development said: “The authority congratulates those businesses who won 2018 awards and those who were highly commended and a special word must go to Naissance for picking up the Business of the Year honour.
