Fly posting

Fly posting is the illegal placement of posters, stickers, banners, boards and other forms of advertisement on unauthorised sites including walls and street furniture.

We undertake action to address environmental crime such as fly posting. We employ teams who are able to respond to incidents of fly posting, taking action to remove the posters including the removal of fly posters for safety reasons. For example, affecting visibility splays on the public highway

We are responsible for the removal of fly posters from Council owned public buildings however we are not responsible for the removal of fly posters from private property.

Enforcement action can be taken against those undertaking such activities or can be shown to benefit from fly posting. If you suspect someone is fly posting please contact the Council on 01639 686868 or contact us using our contact form.
