Litter, dog foul and grit bins

We are responsible for the servicing, emptying, cleaning and renewal of over 700 litter and over 400 dog foul bins on council land.

Litter and dog foul bins are emptied on the same frequency as the streets are cleansed and are sited in locations where our records show that litter and dog foul hotspots exist. The existing bins are replaced if vandalised or damaged.

Dog bin, litter bin or grit bin issues

You can report issues with dog bins, litter bins and grit bins by using our interactive map.

How to use the map

  1. Choose 'Report bin issue' in green box below
  2. Select bin type
  3. Search by location (street name, postcode, location, existing job number) to find the bin
  4. Select relevant dog bin, litter bin or grit bin
  5. Select issue with bin for example dog bin needs emptying

If you are unable to use the map you can use our basic report it form instead.

Every month we deal with numerous reports of littering and dog fouling. Non-reported incidents of littering and dog fouling are also removed frequently.

Waste Enforcement Officers operate and patrol different areas of the County Borough and issue Fixed Penalty Notices in respect of littering and dog fouling offences. Area Operatives are able to report to Waste Enforcement Officers any areas where littering and dog fouling are most prevalent.
