Community Connectors Service
About the Community Connectors Service
The Community Connectors Service supports adults with disabilities to find and attend suitable activities and groups in the local community. The main aim of the pan-disability service is to:
- encourage people to build new friendships
- Involve people in community groups & activities
- Promote independence & well-being
- Gain new skills
Before arranging support, the service takes into consideration a person’s interests and what they want to achieve. The service then works with the person to identify suitable activities and arrange support where needed.
The case studies below describe how the service can support people through activities such as leaning new hobbies and interests, travel training and keeping active.
