What it means to be a Ward Councillor

Councillors have a number of responsibilities. A significant part of these responsibilities is the work carried out at a neighbourhood level, often referred to as the ‘ward councillor role’. Each Councillor represents a ward or division and the residents who live in it, and have a responsibility to communicate Council policies and decisions to them.

NPTCBC will have 34 different wards from May 2022 onwards across the County Borough; some wards are larger than others, therefore will be represented by multiple Members.
