Special Events Road Closures
(Ferry Fest Parade, Briton Ferry) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023
WHEREAS the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council ("the Council") being the Traffic Authority for the County Borough is satisfied that various streets in Briton Ferry should be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic in order to enable the enable Ferry Fest Parade to take place.
NOW therefore the Council in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and of all other enabling powers hereby make the following Order.
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
- The streets as set out in the Schedules below will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic at such times and for such durations as are necessary to enable the Ferry Fest Parade to take place during the period that this Order is in force.
- This Order will be in force from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Sunday, 28th May 2023.
- This Order may be cited as the "Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (Ferry Fest Parade Briton Ferry) (Temporary Road Closures) Order 2023."
Schedules - Temporary Road Closures
The following roads/ streets will be affected:
- Church Street, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Vernon Place to its junction Bethel Street.
- Bethel Street, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Villiers Street to its junction with Sane Lane.
- Sand Lane, Briton Ferry - From its junction with the Bethel Street to its junction with Villiers Street.
- Villiers Street, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Sand Lane to its junction with Hunters Street.
- Hunters Street, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Villiers Street, to its junction with Regent Street East.
- Regent Street East, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Hunters Street to its junction with Thomas Street.
- Thomas Street, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Regent Street East to its junction with Caroline Street.
- Caroline Street, Briton Ferry- From its junction with Thomas Street to its junction with Rockingham Terrace.
- Rockingham Terrace, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Caroline Street to its junction with Hoo Street.
- Hoo Street, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Rockingham Terrace to its junction with the Lane Rear of Ynysmaerdy Primary School.
- Lane Rear of Ynysmaerdy Primary School, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Hoo Street to its junction with Osterley Street.
- Osterley Street, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Lane Rear ofYnysmaerdy Primary School to its junction with Rockingham Terrace.
- Rockingham Terrace, Briton Ferry - From its junction with Osterley Street to its junction with Ynysmaerdy Road.
Roads and side roads/street junctions will only be closed intermittently whilst events are in progress and where possible 'rolling closures' will be used to keep disruption of traffic to a minimum.
(A48 Margam and B4283 Water Street, Margam) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading or Unloading At Any Time) Order 2023
WHEREAS the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council ("the Council") being the Traffic Authority for the County Borough is satisfied that certain roads in Margam should temporarily be subject to No Waiting, Loading or Unloading At Any Time restrictions in order to prevent indiscriminate parking of vehicles on those roads in the interest of road safety whilst the IN IT TOGETHER FESTIVAL 2023 takes place in the vicinity of those roads.
NOW therefore the Council in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and of all other enabling powers hereby make the following order.
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT:
- Whilst this Order is in force, save as provided in clause 2 below, no person shall except upon the direction of a police constable in uniform cause or permit any vehicle to Wait, Load or Unload At Any Time on the lengths of carriageways, and/or on the adjacent footways and highway verges of the roads set out in the Schedule below
- The prohibition in clause 1 above shall not apply to :-
- any vehicle stopping in order to enable a person to board or alight from that vehicle
- any vehicle being used at the time for any building, industrial or demolition works being carried out on any land adjacent to these roads
- any vehicle being used at the time by the emergency services for the purposes of carrying out their functions
- any vehicle being used by the local authority for carrying out its functions on or adjacent to these roads
- any vehicle being used by a statutory undertaker whilst carrying out its functions on or adjacent to these roads
- any Universal Service Provider's vehicle for the purpose of collecting or delivering postal packets/parcels from premises adjacent to these roads.
- Whilst this order is in force, the South Wales Police Constabulary are hereby authorised
- to direct any vehicular traffic which are in breach of the provisions of this Order to vacate any part of the carriageways, footways or highway verges of the roads set out in the Schedule belowAND/OR
- to remove any vehicles which are in breach of the provisions of this Order, by such means of removal as the Police deem appropriate, from those roads set out in the Schedule below (e.g. by towing away of vehicles).
- This Order will be in force from 4pm on Wednesday 24th May 2023 untll 6pm on Monday 29th May 2023.
- This Order may be cited as "Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (A48 Margam and B4283 Water Street, Margam) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading or Unloading At Any Time) Order 2023."
Schedule - Temporary No Waiting. No Loading or Unloading At Any Time Order
- A48, Margam (Both Sides) - From a point approximately 10 metres north west of its junction with Ten Acre Wood for a distance of approximately 4390 metres in a generally south easterly direction.
- B4283 Water Street, Margam (Both Sides) - From its junction with the A48 Margam for a distance of approximately 2880 metres in a generally southerly direction.
Resolven Community Fun Day Temporary Road Closure Order 2023
The Order is necessary to facilitate the Resolven Community Fun Day.
The Order will be in force from 8pm on Friday 9th June to 8pm on Saturday 10th June 2023.
The Order will be made under Section 16(A) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984.
Schedule - Un-named road fronting Sardis Baptist Church
Closure points:
- At its junction with Commercial Road to the north east
- At its junction with Joh Street to the south east
The un-named road will be closed in its entirety.
Neath Real Ale & Cider Festival Temprary Road Closures Order 2023
Whereas the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council ("the Council") being the Traffic Authority for the County Borough is satisfied that the lengths of roads in Neath should be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic in order to enable the Neath Real Ale & Cider Festival to take place.
Now therefore the Council in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and of all other enabling powers hereby makes the following Order:
It is hereby ordered that:
- The lengths of roads set out in the Scheudle below will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic at such times and for such durations as are necessary to enable the Neath Real Ale and Cider Festival to take place during the period that this Order is in force.
- This Order will be in force between the hours of 10am to midnight on Friday 21st July 2023 and Saturday 22nd July 2023.
- This Order may be cited as "The Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (Neath Real Ale & Cider Festival)(Temporary Road Closures) Order 2023.
Schedule - Temporary Road Closures
- Church Place - From its junction with Wind Street to its junction with New Street will be closed in its entirety.
- The Parade, Neath - From its junction with The Croft to its junction with New Street, a distance of approximately 30 metres.
- New Street, Neath - From its junction with The Parade to its junction with Wind Street, a distance of approximately 80 metres in a south easterly direction.
- Angel Street, Neath - From its junction with New Street for a distance of approximately 90 metres in a north westerly direction.
- Cattle Street, Neath - From its junction with Angel Street for a distance of approximately 100 metres in a north easterly direction.
