Following the receipt of the Inspectors’ Report on the Examination of the LDP the Council resolved to adopt the Neath Port Talbot LDP (2011-2026) at its meeting on 27th January 2016. For further information on the adopted LDP, please follow the link to the Council's LDP Latest News webpage.

The Ministers of the WG have appointed Planning Inspectors Siân Worden BA DipLH MCD MRTPI and Nicola Gulley MA MRTPI to conduct the independent Examination to assess the soundness of the LDP. Siân Worden has been appointed as the Lead Planning Inspector and Nicola Gulley as the Assistant Planning Inspector. Following completion of the Examination, the Inspectors will issue a Report for the Council giving recommendations for action which will be binding on the Council who must accept the changes recommended by the Inspectors.
The Examination process will be administered by the Programme Officer Tracey Smith who is independent of the Council and will work under the direction of the Inspectors. The Pre-Hearing Meeting (PHM) was held on Wednesday 28 January 2015 at The Princess Royal Theatre, Civic Centre, Port Talbot SA13 1PJ at 11.00 am. The Notes of the PHM (ED012) can be viewed/downloaded from the Examination Documents webpage.
The Hearing Sessions of the Examination will commence on 11 March 2015 and may last for 4-5 weeks with one or two breaks.
