Private Sector loans
The Housing Renewal & Adaptation Service currently offer two forms of interest free loans.
The loans are aimed at providing financial support to bring long term empty properties back into use or for owners of sub-standard properties, to carry out renovation works to improve the standard of the property.
- Houses Into Homes - To bring long term empty properties back into use as residential accommodation
- Home Improvement Loans - For owners of sub-standard properties to make them warm, safe or secure
Any offer of a loan is not guaranteed until you have received formal approval from the Council. Any works undertaken prior to this approval will be at your own risk.
Houses into Homes loan scheme
The Welsh Government Houses into Homes loan scheme offers short term interest free loans to renovate and/or convert long term empty properties back in use for reoccupation as residential accommodation.
Home Improvement loans
The Welsh Government has launched a Home Improvement Loan Scheme offering financial support to owners of private properties across Wales.
The fund has been made available to provide short to medium term loans to owners of sub-standard properties to make them warm, safe and / or secure.
The loans are subject to an affordability assessment and are aimed at applicants who are restricted by other sources of finance.
