Location: Port Talbot
Pay: £8.72
Closing: 15/07/2020

I am a disabled young adult, aged 20 living in Margam with my family when I’m back from college. I have Cerebral Palsy which affects my mobility and causes me to fully rely on the use of a wheelchair. I have some learning difficulties and limited concentration and my speech is slightly impaired but I will repeat myself until I am understood. I am able to drive my motorised wheelchair in safe environments but tire easily and rely on someone to take over the controls. I need help with eating and drinking but I can feed myself with food that can be picked up providing it is cut up. I am bright and enjoy fun, laughter and nonsense. I like spending time with people who are energetic, bubbly and make me laugh.  I enjoy spending time on my IPad, watching TV, phoning and skyping friends and family.  However, I need to be distracted from this as I can spend too much time using my gadgets instead of getting out and about.

I am looking for a personal assistant who will provide me with support and assistance both at home and out in the community when I am at home during college holidays. Increasing my independence and providing some respite for my family. Tasks will involve spending time with me at home having a laugh and getting me out into the community and possibly meeting up with others. I will need you to help me look out for and think of places we can go.  To get out and about you will need to assist me on public transport or you can drive my Motability vehicle.
