I am a  woman  in my 40s living in the Margam area and I have MS.

 I am easy going and friendly with a good sense of humour.

I enjoy modern music and I am really interested in fashion, hair and makeup, and I like to regularly go and get my hair done.



See Tasks


  • Assist with personal care (All tasks of personal care will be discussed at interview)
  • Light household duties, such as putting washing in, getting the washing out of the machine and hanging out, and folding and putting away clothes. Small amount ironing for myself, cleaning bathroom and equipment after use.
  • Preparing my lunch and doing the dishes afterwards.
  • Assist me when taking my medication.
  • There is some manual handling involved; this would be assisting me with getting into my standing frame aid, helping with transfers and using my electric hoist (must have manual handling training and it only takes one person to use my hoist).
  • Taking me out for local walks or a bus into town, and taking me to the local hairdresser to get my hair done. Also socialising/shopping and generally getting out of the house
  • Any other reasonable duties

Person Type

A person who:

  • Is flexible
  • Is Manual handling/meds trained (certificates must be up to date)
  • Outgoing, bubbly, fun and be able to motivate/encourage.
  • Good sense of humour with good communication skills.
  • Females encouraged to apply due to personal care requirements.


    It would be great if the applicant likes modern music and also likes hair/fashion/makeup, talkative and easy going.


    Previous experience is preferred but not essential


Up to 21 hours 30 minutes per week to be used as follows:

Monday                  09:30am - 14.15pm

Tuesday                 09:30am - 13.30pm

Wednesday            09.30am - 13:30pm

Thursday                09:30am - 14.15pm

Friday                     09.30am - 13:30pm


There are also 7 hours per week to be used flexibly for socialisation.  The full 28.5 hours could be undertaken by one Personal Assistant or could be split between 2 Personal Assistants on a rota basis

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
