Description

I am a man in my 30s living in the Margam area with my family. I have a good sense of humour and I like a good chat. I am a car enthusiast and I love attending the car shows. I also enjoy crafts, exercising, swimming and going to the cinema.  I have complex medical needs but this will be discussed fully in the interview. I also broke my hip over 2 years ago which hasn’t fully healed. I am mobile around the house, but I need to use a wheelchair when I’m out and about, which the PA will need to push. I have a mobility car (automatic) that the PA will drive when taking me out.

Purpose

  • Drive my mobility car to take me out into the community.
  • Help me to access things I enjoy doing like going to the swimming pool and cinema.
  • Support with my insulin for my diabetes (training provided).
  • Support with accessing the public toilets when out in the community (MALE PA preferred).
  • Provide constant supervision and support while out and about.
  • Any other reasonable duties

 

Person Type

  • Male preferred due to personal care tasks.
  • Is able to drive my mobility car (Automatic).
  • Someone chatty, friendly and understanding.
  • Someone supportive and caring.
  • Someone vigilant who will support me in the community.
  • Someone who will treat me with respect and support my independence.

Hours

DRIVING LICENCE ESSENTIAL - PA will drive my mobility car

MALE preferred due to personal care

8 hours to be used on a Saturday.

Additional cover hours may be offered from time to time.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
