LDP Inspectors' Report

LDP Inspectors' Report

The Neath Port Talbot LDP (2011-2026) was submitted by the Council to the Welsh Government (WG) for Examination on 30th September 2014.

The Ministers of the WG appointed Siân Worden [BA DipLH MCD MRTPI] and Nicola Gulley [MA MRTPI] to conduct the Examination to assess the soundness of the Plan. The Examination Hearings were held between 11th March 2015 and 11th June 2015.

The report of the Independent Inspectors was received and published by the Council on 2nd December 2015. The Report outlines what changes the Council should make to the LDP explaining the reasons for them. The recommendations contained within the Report are binding, meaning that the Council must accept the changes recommended by the Inspectors.

The Report concludes that, subject to a number of recommended changes, the Neath Port Talbot LDP is ‘sound’ and provides an appropriate basis for the planning of the County Borough up to 2026. The Council has sufficient evidence to support the strategy and has shown that it has a realistic prospect of being delivered.
