Third Sector Grants

The Neath Port Talbot Third Sector grant fund is now open for applications for 2023-2024 financial year.

The council is prepared to provide funding for up to 3 years to provide 3rd sector organisations with the security to apply for funding from other sources and enable a longer term approach to planning and securing sustainability.

The total amount available is £586,000 and organisations are asked to be mindful of the amount they will be applying for (as the total amount will need to be spread across several organisations that are successful).

The closing date for applications is 14th October 2022. 

Applications are invited that demonstrate:

  1. How proposed activities will support the delivery of the council’s policies and priorities. These are summarised in the council’s Corporate Plan 2022-2027
  2. How proposed activities will reduce demand on council service
  3. How council funding will be used to lever in additional resources in support of council policies and priorities are particularly welcomed
  4. Financial sustainability. The council will wish to be satisfied that the applicant is not dependent on continuing council funding to achieve financial sustainability
  5. A focus on activities that will help community groups / societies recover from the pandemic
  6. Further developing community capacity / collaboration – building from the community action that supported the response to the Covid-19 pandemic

How to apply

  • Please read the Scheme before completing an application form.
  • Applications should show how the proposal embraces the Sustainable Development principle as contained within the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
  • Closing date for applications: 14 October 2022
  • Applicants will be notified before 31 December 2022 on whether or not they have been successful.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will be treated no less favourably than an application submitted in English and will be dealt with to the same standards and time scales.
