NPT Safe and Well is our free service that has been set up to support vulnerable residents during the coronavirus outbreak. The purpose of the service is to ensure nobody is left alone and that people have someone they can go to for help.
Who we can help
Our service can support:
- Those who have been told to shield themselves from the coronavirus but don’t have any family, friends or neighbours to call on for help.
- People who have to self-isolate because they have health conditions that make them especially vulnerable to the coronavirus.
- Carers who are supporting those who are shielding themselves or who are self-isolating, to help them limit their own social contact and protect the vulnerable people they are caring for.
How we can help
To help support residents, we can arrange for a trusted volunteer to help with daily living tasks such as picking up prescriptions, posting mail, dog walking or simply arranging regular check-in phone calls to make sure someone is okay. We can also help people to access food shopping by giving them information on local delivery services. For those who are most vulnerable and have no other way of accessing essential food supplies, we can arrange for a food parcel to be delivered.
We also have close links with the existing support that has been set up by many of the community organisations, community councils, housing associations and councillors across the county borough.
