Description

I am a mature gentleman living within the Neath Port Talbot area. I have a good sense of humour and love to have a chat. I have a keen interest within history and I also like to visit the library. I have a keen interest in photography. I enjoy going into town and having a coffee in the local coffee shop. I am looking for a personal assistant to help support me with shopping tasks. I would also require support with cooking and meal preparation. I like to take part in meaningful activities within the community.

I am registered blind in my left eye and I have reduced sight in my right eye. I also wear hearing aids at all times as I am hard of hearing, however I am able to understand and communicate effectively at all times.

 

Purpose

  • Supporting me with my weekly shop.
  • Supporting me with cooking and meal preparation.
  • Support with up keep of appearance.
  • Support with helping me remain independent
  • Support with enabling me to attend the community and events.
  • Taking me to any appointments that I may have. 
  • Support me to plan my week ahead.

Hours

10 hours per week 

Tuesday mornings (this cannot be changed) however, the rest of the weeks hours can be discussed during interview.

This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
