Description

I am a man in my mid 20’s living in the Cymmer area of Port Talbot with my family. I enjoy boxing with my special needs group. I also enjoy indoor bowls, music, dancing and eating out for meals. I love watching international rugby matches as well as the Ospreys. I enjoy listening to Christian music. I like swimming after church on Sundays.

Purpose

  • Supervising whilst eating due to choking hazard.
  • Supervise when going to the toilet (i.e, tell him not to lock the toilet door.) There is no personal care required.
  • Supervise when out and about in the community due to no danger awareness.
  • To take and support him in the community and doing activities that he enjoys (such as special needs boxing, special needs disco’s, bowls and meals out etc.)

Person Type

  • Must be a car driver with own vehicle.
  • Someone chatty, friendly and understanding.
  • Someone supportive and caring.
  • Someone vigilant who will support me in the community.
  • Someone with a happy disposition.
  • Someone who will treat me with respect and support my independence.

Hours

up to 7 hours per week 

Tuesday - 4:40pm to 6.20pm 

Thursday - 4.40pm to 6.10pm 

Other hours to be discussed during interview.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
