Description
I am a very happy 9 year old girl living in the Sandfields area of Port Talbot. My favourite things to do are to go swimming and do painting. I am non-verbal but I understand everything that is said to me and I am non-mobile. I enjoy being outdoors rather than indoors. Being active is something I enjoy as well as doing my favourite activities. I enjoy my food and have a really good appetite. Peppa pig is my favourite thing to watch before I go to bed. The only thing I don’t like is unexpected noises. These can upset me.
Purpose
Support with personal care and toileting
Support me in the home when my mum has to complete chores, go shopping or take my siblings out
Take me to activities that I enjoy and ensure my safety at all times
Support with ceiling track hoist etc. – Manual handling training to be provided
If you are non-driver, we can go to the beach for walks, to the cinema, or for a smoothie/milkshake.
Person Type
A person who:
Is reliable
Is patient
Has some experience which is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided
Would prefer a car driver with a clean driving license (must be age 25+ due to insurance as the PA would drive the mobility car).
Is conscientious and forward thinking
Has a good sense of humour

CAR DRIVER IS ESSENTIAL
7 hours per PA (Double-staffed) – to be used flexibly after school or weekends (Saturday afternoons or Sundays) - we are flexible.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
