Vacancy Details

Location: Port talbot
Pay: £13.45
Closing Date: 28 Gorff 2028

Description

I am an 85 year old gentleman living in the Sandfields area with my wife and cat. I used to enjoy playing golf and I currently attend a walking football group. I enjoy watching golf, darts and football on the TV.

I am looking for a cover PA to support me to access the groups that I attend.

I am a laid back gentleman, and I take my time when processing information and replying in conversation. The PA would need to be patient and understanding of this.

I have Parkinsons, Dementia, COPD and can suffer with depression and anxiety. My conditions mean I have reduced mobility and coordination, and I am at risk of falls. I use a wheelchair as both a walking aid and to sit in when I get tired, so my PA would need to push my wheelchair when this happens. The PA would either be able to use their own car, or drive my mobility car which is an automatic. The PA will need to prompt me with time sensitive medication.

Purpose

  • Support me with going for a coffee or keep me company at home if the weather is bad.

  • Promote my independence by supervising me while I’m pottering around in the house/community/garden etc.

  • Help me get back up if I fall.

  • Prompt me to take my medication, which must be taken at exact times.

  • Take me to my walking football group.

  • Support me to get in and out of the car.

  • Load/ unload my wheelchair into the car.

  • Drive my mobility car.

Person Type

A person who:

  • Must be a NON SMOKER due to my COPD
  • Driving Licence is essential

  • Someone who is easy going
  • Must be patient and understanding
  • Someone respectful who will encourage me to be independent
  • Someone who respects my privacy and confidentiality
  • Is trustworthy, reliable and punctual
  • Will treat me with dignity and respect
