Description

I am a 6 year old boy living in the Tonna area of Neath. I have Global Development Delay and un-diagnosed Autism. I am non-verbal. I have no danger awareness and require constant supervision. On rare occasions, if I am tired, or told to do something I don’t want to, I will drop to the floor, and if I’m not left alone, I can kick out as I don’t like anyone in my personal space. I respond well to distraction techniques.

I am a very happy boy with an infectious laugh. I love being tickled and spinning round on the spot. I love drawing and Peppa Pig. I enjoy having fun and I am very active. I love to play in water and jump in puddles. I enjoy going out for walks, to the parks and play areas, but I do not like crowds. 

Purpose

  • Supervise me at all times and ensure my safety 

  • Taking me to the parks and play areas

  • Go for a walk (beachfront etc)

Person Type

  • Car driver essential
  • is trustworthy, reliable and punctual 
  • is caring, patient and understanding
  • is friendly and chatty
  • Experience of working with individuals with Autism would be advantageous.

Hours

6 hours per week during term time - 3 hours on a Tues and Thurs from 3.45pm

and 12 hours per week during school holidays – days and times to be discussed.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
