Description
I am a 21 year old man living in the Cimla area with my family. I have Autism and Epilepsy, and I experience seizures daily.
I am a very quiet and gentle young man, and I need a PA to encourage me to go out, help me access the community and bring me out of my shell. I enjoy going out to the cinema, walking and bowling. At home I like to play my Xbox, watch films, YouTube & Tik Tok videos.
I can be very anxious and require supervision at all times when we are out, as I have no road safety or danger awareness.
Purpose
Tasks Include:
Encourage me to go out
Support me to access the community.
Support me when experiencing an epileptic seizure – training will be provided.
Supervise me closely when crossing roads and car parks.
Supervising me when we’re out and helping me to stay safe.
Any other reasonable tasks.
Person Type
A person who:
- Someone supportive who will encourage and motivate me
- Someone who will be confident in supporting me with my epilepsy – training will be provided.
Is able to work professionally & flexibly.
Will treat me with dignity and respect.
Some experience of supporting adults with Autism would be an advantage but not essential.
Is proactive.
- Car driver essential
- Is trustworthy, reliable and punctual
- Is caring, patient and understanding
- Is friendly and chatty
Hours
6 hours per week to be worked as 3 hours on a Monday and Wednesday. Times are flexible.

This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement.
If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
