Description

I am a 9 year old girl living in the Sandfields area of Port Talbot. I am non-verbal and have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. I love Disney films. I do not like crowded places. I have a swift buggy as I am not very steady on my feet, although I can walk small distances. I would like to get out and about in the community and visit places such as Margam Park, The Gnoll Country Park or the beach. I would also like my PA to take me swimming as this is really good for my joints. I like to watch ducks and another animals from a distance. 

Purpose

  • Take me out in to the community. 

  • Take me to Margam Park, Gnoll Park and the beach. 

  • I can walk but I am unsteady, so the PA will push me in my wheelchair sometimes too. 

  • Take me swimming as this helps my joints.

  • Changing my nappy.

  • Possibly stay over my house twice a month with me (if my parents require this). 

Person Type

  • Car driver preferred due to places I would like to visit

  • Someone who is trustworthy 

  • Someone who is patient 

  • Someone confident who can bond with me 

  • Someone who can set boundaries with me

  • Someone who has experience with Autism preferred 

Hours

4 hours per week term time & 8 hours per week in school holidays.

There is a possibility of 2 sleep ins a month, if my parents require this.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
