Description

I am a gentleman in my 60’s living in the Little Warren area of Port Talbot. I enjoy listening to music and once my shed is built, I will be able to make jewellery. I love Indian food and I enjoy going to the man shed. I have joined Mals Marauders and like to go on beach walks with them. I would like to be able to go and watch Swansea City FC and Aberavon RFC matches.  

Purpose

  • Supporting me to safely transfer to and from my wheelchair

  • Supervise all transfer due to my high risk of falls

  • Escorting me safely into and out of community venues

  • Remain with me for the duration of activities as I cannot be left unsupervised due to my ill health

  • Monitor for signs of fatigue, dizziness, instability or MS related symptom flare ups

  • Provide immediate support if I become unsteady or overwhelmed

  • Assist me in participating in group sessions

  • Support me to attend and engage in meaningful activities that I enjoy

  • Support me socially

  • Adapt sessions based on my health on the day

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
