Description

I am an 85 year old lady living in the centre of Neath. I have a very loving supportive family surrounding me, and I love all my family pictures in my home they are very special to me. I love to talk about old times. Lately I have been confined to my bed and require support with personal care and support with preparing light meals. 

To give my family a break I would require a Personal Assistant to support me every other weekend if possible. I have had a diagnosis of Vascular Dementia and can become confused with some short term memory loss. I have a manual handling plan in place to support and assist me with care to be provided on my bed. All training will be provided to support me. 

Purpose

Morning Call: 08:00 - 08:45 Personal Care, wash and dressed and breakfast. (Saturday and Sunday)

 

Lunch Call: 12:00 - 12:35 Personal Care and provide a ready meal lunch. (Saturday and Sunday)

 

Teatime call: 16:30 - 17:10 Personal Care and provide light Meal. Saturday a light mal to be prepared and on Sunday a lunch is prepared by my family and is to be warmed. (Saturday and Sunday)

 

There is some flexibility with the calls of around 30 mins which can be discussed.

Hours

3.5 hours every other weekend, which works out as 1 hour 45 mins on a Saturday and 1 hour 45 minutes on a Sunday.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
