What is Bookstart?
Bookstart is a national programme that works through locally based Co-ordinators to give a free pack of books to babies with guidance materials for parents and carers.
BookStart and Neath Port Talbot Libraries
Bookstart song and rhyme sessions have resumed in Neath Port Talbot Libraries. To book a space or confirm a session please contact your local library. Regular session times for those booked on are:
- Neath Library - Mondays 10.30
- Port Talbot - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10.30
- Pontardawe Library - Tuesdays 10.30
- Glynneath Library - Mondays 11:30
- Skewen Library - Fortnightly. Fridays 11am. Contact the library for details.
- Cwmafan Library - Wednesdays 10.30
- Sandfields Library - Friday 10.30
Sessions take place during term time only.
Book crawl
Bookstart Book Crawl is a fantastic library joining incentive for children age 0 – 3 years. Children receive a collection card and then collect stickers on each visit to the library. When they have collected 4 stickers they are given a certificate. There are ten attractive certificates to collect. A free book is given out with the first certificate while stocks last. Just ask at your local library for details.
