Senior Trading Standards Officer (Consumer Fraud & Underage Sales)

About the role:
We are currently looking for a Senior Trading Standards Officer to join the Fraud team of Neath Port Talbot Trading Standards.
The role involves supervising a small team and responding to and investigating instances of breaches of a wide variety of trading standards legislation. This includes but is not restricted to consumer frauds, underage sales, counterfeiting, product safety and fair trading, via intervention, business advice and sampling as required by the needs of the service.
The post holder will be required to visit retail, industrial, domestic and similar premises within the Neath Port Talbot area. The ability to speak Welsh is not required.
Your daily routine will supervise and allocate work to a small team as well as carry out their own investigative work across a rang of trading standards functions, focussing on consumer frauds, the second hand car trade, counterfeiting and underage sales.

As a Senior Trading Standards Officer, a trading standards qualification (such as a Diploma in Trading Standards, Diploma in Consumer Affairs & Trading Standards or antecedents) is essential.
