Secondment Opportunity for 1 year 1/9/25 - 31/8/26

We are looking to second one highly effective practitioner to the School Improvement Team to work alongside the Education Support Officer (ESO) and Teacher Development Officer (TDO) with responsibility for Teaching and Learning to deliver the NPT Teaching and Learning Programme. This post will require the secondee to work across the 3-16 continuum however there will be an emphasis on supporting within the secondary sector.

The secondee will receive professional learning in pedagogical approaches which will enable them to deliver a series of training sessions and support participants to evolve their practice in their own school.

Throughout the secondment the successful applicant will be deepening their understanding of, Curriculum for Wales with an emphasis on pupil progression, inclusion and supporting all learners to develop the Four Purposes. The successful applicant will also have opportunities to engage with different research related to child development, learning strategies and their impact, enabling adults and effective learning environments.

They will collaborate with networks of 10-15 teachers enabling them to become a self-sustaining group/network. The secondee will coach, model, support, evaluate, advise and co-construct with these networks. They will facilitate sharing and contribute to the whole LA evaluation of progress.
