Dogs on Leads Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council has made a Dog Control Order ( “the Order”) under Section 55(1) of The Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 (“the Act”) which applies to the Land (“the Land”) described in the schedule below, being land to which the Act applies.

INTENDED EFFECT OF THE ORDER

(1) The Order will be made on 20 February 2013

(2) The effect of the Order is to require the keeping of dogs on leads where shown on the map accompanying the Order

(3) The period to which the Order is to operate is from 1 May up to and including 30 September in every year after the Order comes into force

(4) The Order comes into force on 22 March 2013

(5) Failure to comply with the requirements of the Order will constitute an offence

Copies of the Order and the map may be obtained between the hours of 8.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, and Fridays between 8.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. at:

  • Neath Civic Centre, Neath SA11 3QZ
  • Pontardawe First Stop Offices, Holly St, Pontardawe SA8 4ET

Land designated by description

All that part of the promenade lying immediately adjacent to the beach and foreshore situated at Aberavon Beach, Port Talbot lying between the breakwater at its south-eastern end and the eastern side of the last set of steps on the promenade to the west being a length of approximately 2084 metres and comprising an area of approximately 79.9 hectares as shown on the map accompanying the Order

Any person committing a breach of the Order will be liable upon prosecution to such fine as is prescribed by Section 56(2) of the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005.
