Traffic calming measures

Statement of reason

The Order is necessary to reduce vehicular speeds in the interest of road safety.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council in pursuance of its powers as contained in Section 90A of the Highway Act 1980 and the Highways (Road  Humps) Regulations 1999 intends to install Traffic Calming Measures in the form of:-

Raised Speed Plateaux of such dimensions and situated at such locations as set out
in the schedule below.

A copy of the draft Notice, plan and statement of reasons can be inspected on the Council’s Internet Website

Any objections should be submitted in writing, setting out the reasons thereof, to reach the Head of Engineering and Transport, The Quays, Baglan Energy Park SA11 2GG by 28th August 2023.

Schedule 1 - traffic calming measures in the form of raised speed plateaux (75millimetres high)

B4434 Tonna Uchaf

1.1 Located at the roundabout connecting Park Street, Dulais Fach Road & Tonna Uchaf.

1.2 Located at the junction of Heol Caredig and Tonna Uchaf (to be 4.9m long).

1.3 Located at the junction of Pen-Y-Bryn and Tonna Uchaf (to be 4.9m long).

For clarification this will be incorporated into an active travel route linking the village of Tonna to Tonna hospital.
