Community Occupational Therapy Service

The Occupational Therapy Service aims to maintain, promote and restore independence in people of all ages, sp that they may live more productive and enjoyable lives. The service is available to adults and children who live in Neath Port Talbot County Borough and have permanent and substantial disabilities.
We may recommend or arrange:
1, Advice and training on managing practical difficulties.
2, The loan of equipment to help with daily living and personal care, such as preparing meals or bathing.
3, Minor adaptations to the home e.g. grab rails, stair rails and small ramps.
4, Major adaptations e.g. lift, showers and ground floor extensions.
5, Advice on specialist suppliers for people who may wish to purchase equipment independently.
There is no charge for the assessment, training and advice from the Occupational Therapy Service. All equipment we provide is free on a loan basis. Depending on your financial circumstances, you may be asked to contribute to the cost of the adaptations to your home.
