Corporate Plan 2021-2023
This Plan is produced to meet the requirements of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 (WBFG) by setting out our three well-being objectives (that will help us achieve our vision), and the steps we will take to achieve them and how we will measure progress. Our three Well Being Objectives are:
Well-being Objective 1: To improve the well-being of children and young people: “All of our children and young people have the best start in life, so they can be the best they can be”
Well-being Objective 2: To improve the well-being of all adults who live in the county borough: “Everyone participates fully in community life – socially and economically”
Well-being Objective 3: To develop the local economy and environment so that the well-being of people can be improved: “The whole of Neath Port Talbot county borough will be a vibrant, healthy and safe place to live, work and enjoy recreational time”
The Plan also provides a summary of the work that was initiated by the Council during 2020/2021 as part of the emergency response to the pandemic and provides some detail on our initial thinking on how we will lead Neath Port Talbot out of the pandemic during 2021/2022
Annual Report and Annual Self-Assessment
The Council is obliged to report each year through its Annual Report on the extent to which the well-being objectives set out in its Corporate Plan have been achieved. The Annual Report meets the duties set out in the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
The Local Government and Elections Act Part 6, Chapter 1 requires that a council must produce a self-assessment report for each financial year and set out its conclusions on the extent to which it is meeting its performance requirements. This duty takes effect for performance for the 2021/2022 financial year. The self-assessment should be published as soon as practicable possibly in the following financial year (2022 - 2023).
The combined Annual Report and Self-Assessment for 2021 - 2022 will be published on this page in the autumn of 2022.
