I am 69-year-old woman living in the Neath area. I have complex needs and require assistance with everyday tasks such as maintaining my personal care, support with some laundry, shopping and accessing the community for appointments.

I have severe mobility difficulties and use a wheelchair outdoors.

My biggest interest is writing. I love to write poems about women’s issues, I find it very therapeutic.

I also enjoy decorating cards, feeding the birds in my garden and baking.


Tasks Include: 


  • Support with personal care: washing, showering, hair washing, applying cream, dressing/undressing, toileting, putting foot support on/off.
  • Meal/drink prep
  • Remind me to take medication
  • Transport me to and from hospital appointments.
  • Light household tasks: Put shopping away following delivery, Assistance with laundry and taking rubbish in/ out etc.


Person Type

A person who:  


  • Female only due to personal care.
  • Is able to drive.
  • Reliable and honest.
  • Non-smoker
  • Someone who is good at communicating and will tell me if there is something wrong. 
  • Someone who preferably has experience in a care setting. 
  • Certificate or willingness to undertake training in manual handling for wheelchair use for hospital appointments.
  • Certificate or willingness to undertake medication awareness training.


16 hours per week


Hours are flexible and will be discussed at interview.

*Can be shared between 2 positions - 8hours each

This post may require a DBS check (the cost of which will be met by NPTCBC). If this post requires you to work with children then it is compulsory for you to have a DBS check prior to commencement.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.

Wages will be paid on a 4 weekly or monthly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.

You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.

You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
